Mohammed Anwarul Iqbal, BPM (Bar), PPM
DIRECTOR GENERAL - RAPID ACTION BATTALION FORCES

Mohammed Anwarul Iqbal, BPM (Bar), PPM joined Bangladesh Police on 22 August 1973. He obtained his Masters Degree in Bengali literature from Chittagong univercity, Bangladesh. He has successfully served in two very important appointment at United Nations Peace Keeping Operations namely Chief of Staff, CIVPOL, ONUMOZ, in Mozambique from Nov 93 to Dec 94 and Police Commissioner, UNAVEM III in Angola from Mar 95 to Jun 97. As a member of Bangladesh Police he has served in most of the units in Bangladesh Police Force which includes Police Headquarters, Criminal Investigation Department, Special Branch, Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Chittagong Metropolitan Police, Khulna Metropolitan Police, Detective Training School, Armed Police Battalion and Sylhet, Kushtia, Khulna and Chittagong districts and Magura, Kishorganj and Bagerhat sub-divisions. Mr. Iqbal has attended a number of training courses, seminars and workshops at home and abroad including Police Staff College, UK and UN Human Rights centre, Geneva. He has traveled as many as 25 countries. For his great contribution to the service and the nation he was given gallantry award, President Police Medal in the year of 1980 and Bangladesh Police Medal in the year of 2000 and 2002. Mr Iqbal is the pioneer Director General of Rapid Action Battalion Forces and since the first day of the formation of RAB he is serving with great dynamism and leadership.

 
Lt Colonel Md Emadul Haque, psc
(Director Operation Wing)

Lt Col Md Emadul Haque, psc was commissioned in the East Bengal Regiment on 05 November 1982. Besides serving in number of infantry regiments, he held various instructional and staff appointments. He has successfully commanded The 28th Battalion, the East Bengal Regiment. He was an instructor of Tactics wing in the School of Infantry and Tactics, a platoon Commander in Bangladesh Military Academy and Brigade Major of an Infantry Brigade. He also completed a tenure as Directing Staff in the Defence Services Command and Staff College. He also served in the prestigious and important appointment of Information and Liaison Officer during UNTAC Mission in Cambodia. He attended a number of courses and training at home and abroad. He is a graduate of Defence Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur. He also attended Army Command and General Staff Course in Philippines and obtained Diploma and General Staff Core eligibility Badge. Previously he served as a Director in Operation Wing, Rapid Action Battalion Forces Headquarters. On completion his tenure he rejoin the Army.

 
Colonel Chowdhury Fazlul Bari, BPM
ADDITIONAL DIRECTOR GENERAL - RAPID ACTION BATTALION FORCES

Colonel Chowdhury Fazlul Bari, BPM was commissioned on 28 June 1981 in the corps of Artillery with 4th BMA Long course from Bangladesh Military Academy. He has successfully served in number of Air Defence Regiments, Bangladesh Rifles, Military Police Units and Intelligence organizations. With exceptional military dynamism, he has commanded 5 Air Defence Artillery, 14 Rifle Battalion, Sundarban Regiment, 20 Rifle Battalion and Army Military Police Unit. Under his able command 20 Rifle Battalion carried out number of courageous operation in Chittagong Hill Tracts and recovered number of automatic weapons and apprehended number of Shanti Bahini members. Due to his continuous vigilance and successful operational plan 20 Rifle Battalion become, three times champion in anti smuggling operation among all battalions of Bangladesh Rifles. For this, he was awarded with Director General’s (Bangladesh Rifle) commendation in 1993. He has in his credit of seizing highest amount of contraband items as Battalion Commander of Bangladesh Rifle Battalions. He is the pioneer commanding officer of Rapid Action Battalion-1 and he started with the success of apprehending a listed Top Terrorist like Picchi Hannan. For his extraordinary operational command, he was awarded with gallantry award Bangladesh Police Medal. He attended number of courses at home and abroad. He effectively served as Military Observer in United Nation Mission in Liberia and Rwanda. He is one of the pioneer functional designer of RAB. Colonel Chowdhury Fazlul Bari, BPM has promoted to the rank of Brigadier General. At the moment he is serving in DGFI.

 
Md Mukhlesur Rahman Addl DIG of Police,
(Director Legal And Media Wing)

Md Mukhlesur Rahman Addl DIG of Police, joined BCS (Police) in 1986. Served in CMP as Asst. Police Commissioner, Special Security Force as Asst. Director, Rangamati hill tracts as Addl. SP. Noakhali District as Addl SP, DMP as Addl. Dy Police Commissioner, Narsingdi District as SP, Sylhet District as SP, again Narsingdi District as SP. Participated various training courses in home and abroad.

 
Additional DIG Md. Moniruzzaman
(Commanding Officer RAB-1)

Additional DIG Md. Moniruzzaman joined in Bangladesh Police in 1986 as ASP. He did his Masters in Geology from Dhaka University. He served as ASP ( Circle), and Additional SP in different Districts. He joined in UN Mission as Police Monitor in Combodia (UNTAC). The Officer also served as Superintendent of Police in Meherpur, Jhalakathi, Bhola, Lalmonir Hat and Comilla District. He Commanded the Armed Police Battalion Barisal. He served as Additional Police commissioner in Chittagong Metropolitan Police.
Furthermore, he attended a seminar held in Washington D/C in 2004. Additional DIG Md. Moniruzzaman has promoted to the rank of DIG. At the moment he is serving in Barisal Division Range DIG.

 
Commander Saber Sharif, PPM,(C),afwc, psc,
(Director Communication & MIS Wing)

Commander Saber Sharif, (C), afwc, psc, PPM, joined Bangladesh Navy in 1982 and was commissioned in the Executive Branch in 1985. He commanded 4 Warships i.e, 3x Patrol Craft and Submarine Chaser and served in various capacities notably instructor of Naval Academy, Staff Officer Operations (Grade-1), Flotilla Communications Officer, Staff Officer Operation Sea Training Group, Deputy Director of Naval Operations at Naval Headquarters and Project Officer Coast Guard. He attended number of courses both home and abroad some are Basic Officer’s Course in Germany, Communication and Electronic Warfare Specialization Course in India, Junior Staff Course in Naval Academy, Computer Course under Dhaka University, Operational Sea Training Instructors Course in Malaysia, Staff Course in Germany, Armed Forces War Course in National Defence College and Security Course under NSI . He has number of publications in various military journals. He was the 1st director of RAB-4, Mirpur from 05 April 2004. Then he took over as Director, Communication & MIS Wing, Rapid Action Battalion Forces Headquarters on 04 August 2005.
Commander Saber Sharif, PPM, (C),afwc, psc, has promoted to the rank of Captain and left RAB to serve in Naval Headquarters as Director Naval Operation.

 
Lt Colonel Quazi Emdadul Haque, psc
(Commanding Officer RAB-7)

Lt Col Quazi Emdadul Haque, psc was commissioned in 1983 in the Corp of Infantry. Initially he served as a regimental officer in various capacities in an infantry unit. He is a pioneer in special warfare training in Bangladesh Army and a renowned Commando, Jump Master, Rigger and Free Faller. He also served in various appointment in special forces of Bangladesh (1 Para Commando Battalion). Lt Col Emdad attended number of courses at home and aboard. He was an instructor in Tactics and command Wing of School of Infantry and Tactics. He also performed as Instructor and Chief Instructor of Special Warfare Wing in the School of Infantry and Tactics. He served as Grade-II staff officer at Army Headquarters. He was an UN Military observer in Mozambique. He is a graduate from Defence Services Command and Staff Collage, Mirpur and Obtained Master of Defence Studies (MDS) from National University. He has commanded one infantry battalion.

 
Lt Colonel MD Emdadul Haque, psc
(Commanding Officer RAB-6)

Lt Col MD Emdadul Haque, psc was commissioned in the cors of Infantry on 05 November 1982. Besides serving in number of infantry regiments, he held various instructional and staff appointments. He has successfully commanded The Senior Tigers-The First East Bengal Regiment. He also served in the prestigious and important appointment of operations officer during United Nations Mission at Kuwait (UNIKOM). He attended a number of courses and training at home and abroad. He is a graduat of Defence Service Command and Staff College, Mirpur.

 
Lt Colonel Muhammad Faruque Hussain, afwc, psc
(Commanding Officer RAB-5)

Lt Col Muhammad Faruque Hussain, afwc, psc was commissioned on 05 November 1982 in the corps of Infantry with 7th BMA Long Course. He is a graduate from Deffence Services Command and Staff College Mirpur as well as National Defense College Mirpur. He has attended number of Courses at Various Military and Civil institutions. He has held number of Command and Staff appointment at various levels. He has commanded two Infantry Battalions at Chittagong Hill Tracts as well as plain land. He served in UN Mission as a contingent member in Somalia. In RAB he has commanded Rapid Action Battalion 5, Rajshahi. He has visited number of Countries like, Somalia, Kenya, Pakistan, Malaysia, etc.

Wing Commander M Aminul Islam,

Wing Commander M Aminul Islam, afwc, psc was commissioned in General Duties (Pilot) Branch on 06 July 1985 in Bangladesh Air Force. He is a graduate from Defence Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur. He obtained Master of Defence Studies (MDS) from National University. He has attended number of courses at home and abroad, notably Armed Forces War Course at National Defence College, Mirpur. He has held command, staff and instructional appointment like command of a Fighter Squadron of Bangladesh Air Force, Deputy Director Plans at Air Headquarters and served as Flying Instructor in BAF Academy and BAF Flying Instructor’s School. He has been a UN Military Observer in Angola where he served as Chief Air Staff Officer (CASO) in the Forces Headquarter of MONUA.
